Selected engagements
Development advisory and client-side coordination on a large scale development in Umm Al Quwain.
Vela's founder led the original masterplanning and infrastructure design for Siniya Island, and the design and construction supervision of the bridge that reaches it, in his previous role. He now advises on the development being built there.
Appointed Project Management Consultant across the group's capital programme. Each project carries a different lead consultant and its own main contractor. Vela is the one constant, working across the whole programme rather than being tied to a single project, providing project controls, quality assurance and quantity surveying wherever they are needed.
Vela reports weekly to the owner on programme, cost, quality, submittals and site safety, as the owner's independent assessment rather than a summary of what the contractor says.
Vela has supplied site supervision teams on Madinat Jumeirah Living Phase 6B for Dubai Holding, on Emaar South, and on Al Ittihad National School in Abu Dhabi, and a design production team on AYA in Umm Al Quwain. These were delivered through Al Gurg Consultants, which held the appointments.
